Everyone must be aware of the following rules. Please read carefully! There have been changes made from last year.

The new management has made it very clear that if there is a problem with blocking customers, or acting too aggressively all dates will be immediately cancelled for all units.

You will not be put on schedule until you send me a signed copy. You can download the rules in word format, or you can copy and paste them in to an e-mail. You can type in your signature, and e-mail it.

The link to the schedule is at the end of the page

1.     Prior Approval of Date and Time - The Store Manager has approved dates and times that are agreeable to Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and has requested that these dates and times be managed by one representative of the Boy Scouts.

2.     Designation of Area - Soliciting shall only take place in the designated area specified by Store Manager.  We reserve the right to change the designated area in good faith as deemed necessary for the commercial operation of the store.  Check in with customer service before you set up to be sure that location hasn’t changed.  Participants should be at the exit area of the store, between exit doors at propane tanks for display table, Scouts should be at the pole near driveway, to allow customers and carts to easily pass through doors and access parking lot.

3.     Limitation on Participants - The Store Manager will approve a number that is agreeable to Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and the organization requesting the use of our store front, which will be deemed safe and allow for the commercial operation of the store.  For the popcorn sale no more than 2 Scouts soliciting at the exit door, and no more than a total of 4 persons which include 2 Supervising Adults should be present in the total sale area.  Please make sure that your sale table allows for your customers to stand clear of the doors and equipment.

4.     Use of equipment – Participants must provide their own equipment, tables, chairs, or other paraphernalia needed for solicitation.  Participants should not use or play on store equipment.  Participants need to be aware of the placement of store equipment, and not block customer access to the equipment.

5.     Store Access and Sidewalks – Solicitation shall not interfere with or block free passage of customers entering and exiting the store doorways or on the sidewalks.  DO NOT block customers from leaving store, follow customers into store, or into the parking lot.  Make sure that your business area is not blocking the store business area, or equipment.

6.     Scouts are to act in a business like manner, not playing or running in front of doors or playing on store equipment.  Scouts are to sell popcorn products not solicit donations.  You may accept offered donations.

I have read the above regulations concerning Solicitation at Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, and agree to abide by them.  I understand that failure of the Scout Unit that I represent to act in accordance with these regulations will result in our permission to be on the premises for solicitation being revoked.
