Scout Sales Manners (rules)

1)     We are not to block the entrance or exit to any Business.  If people need to walk around you then you are standing too close.

2)     We are not to follow customers into any Business, or harass them.  Let them walk out of the door before you start your sale pitch.

3)     We will act in a business like manner no running through the store, or in front.  No playing on store displays.  You are there to work, and represent Scouting.

4)     We will in no way suggest or imply that Any Business has any responsibility for the product that we are selling.

5)     The Business supporting us has no liability toward the boys that will be selling at their store.  You should be covered under the B.S.A. insurance policy.

6)     There will be adult leadership in place to insure that proper Scouting behavior is adhered to.  This means 2 adults present and in control.

7)     We would like to have only two boys near the exit doors. More than two boys and it looks like a gang, this intimidates potential customers.

8)     Use common sense, this is not a social hour it is a job.  Please keep the sales table area clear, and organized to do business. If there are more than 2 adults present please have them away from the sale area and not surrounding it socializing, this is distracting to your customers.

9)     Keep two adults at the table watching business.  Let the boys do the business when possible, most people respect that we are teaching the Scouts and prefer to have them do the talking.  Besides you can not compete with that cute 7-year-old any way.

10) Say Thank You, when the customer makes a purchase, or OK, Have a Nice Day if he says no.

This is how businesses have been told that you will act.
